🏗️ Project Overview
The Nursery & Seedling Production Unit was established using a Dome Roof Poly Net House structure across 2,500 sq.m to create a controlled and hygienic environment for raising high-quality vegetable seedlings.
The unit was designed to support commercial farmers with uniform, disease-free, and vigorous seedlings, ensuring strong crop establishment and improved overall farm productivity. By maintaining optimal temperature, humidity, and protection from external stress, the project ensures consistent tray-based seedling production.
Structure Type: Dome Roof Poly Net House
Crop: Vegetable Seedlings (Various Crops)
Total Area: 2,500 sq.m
Project Status: Successfully Implemented & Operational
🎯 Project Objectives
The primary objective was to develop a protected nursery environment that enhances germination rates, seedling strength, and survival performance after transplantation.
Key objectives included:
-
Creating a controlled microclimate for healthy seedling development
-
Improving root growth and plant vigor
-
Increasing seedling survival rate after transplanting
-
Standardizing tray-based production for commercial supply
⚙️ Technical & Structural Details
Structure Design: Dome roof configuration for improved airflow and rainwater runoff
Net Type: UV-stabilized poly net with insect protection
Propagation Method: Plug trays with cocopeat or soilless media
Irrigation System: Fine mist / fogging system for controlled moisture
Shade Management: Partial shading to prevent heat stress
Hygiene Protocol: Raised nursery benches for disease control and uniform drainage
📈 Results & Outcomes Achieved
The nursery unit delivered strong technical and commercial benefits:
✅ Strong root development with dense, healthy root systems
✅ Higher seedling survival rate during and after transplantation
✅ Uniform tray production with consistent plant height and vigor
✅ Reduced seedling mortality compared to open nurseries
